Chelsea, NY (April 28, 2019) – A bicycle accident involving a Citi Bike rider took place on 11 th Avenue near Hudson Yards last night around 6:37 p.m. in Chelsea, according to authorities. Police say that the 74-year-old bicyclist was riding along near the area of 30 th Street when he collided with the cab of a UPS tractor-trailer. Police confirmed that this accident took place in a particularly busy area of western Chelsea near the High Line stairway. The cyclist was badly injured on the leg and was immediately transported to the Bellevue Hospital for treatment. His injuries were not considered life-threatening but we do not know his condition at this time. The driver who struck the cyclist stayed at the scene and was not charged. Manhattan, NY (April 28, 2019) – Around 4 a.m. yesterday morning, April 27, a man was struck in a train accident that took place at the Lexington Avenue station at 103 rd Street. Police are not yet sure what caused the victim to land on the train tracks. Multiple witnesses say that the victim fell in some way, but police have not yet been able to confirm how that happened. As per photographs from the scene, an ambulance was present and the victim was loaded into the back so that they could be transported to the hospital. Staten Island, NY (April 28, 2019) – Police have arrested a man who was involved in a serious hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Bradley and Purdy Avenues. The accident allegedly took place on Saturday. Police originally arrived at the scene of the accident on Saturday around 10:30 p.m. They found that an 89-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident where the driver of a Toyota fled the scene after striking her. The woman was identified as 89-year-old Anastasia Diaz. The driver was quickly identified as 74-year-old Johnson Kim. Kim, of West Brighton, has since been charged with three counts of hit-and-run. Staten Island, NY (April 28, 2019) – On Friday night, a rollover accident took place on Richmond Hill Road in Staten Island that closed a portion of the roadway temporarily. At the time, police say that a sedan was lodged on the side of the roadway that many people commonly refer to as “Snake Hill Road” around 9:20 p.m. on the night of April 26. Emergency responders said that the vehicle overturned and that the driver was trapped inside following the incident. A section of the road was closed off and the vehicle was removed from the premises. One individual received injuries in the midst of the accident but police have not confirmed the driver’s name or how serious the injuries were. Long Island, NY (April 28, 2019) – A man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run motorcycle crash that took place on Pine Aire Drive in Long Island last night, April 27. The 63-year-old victim, whose name has not yet been released, had been driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle on Pine Aire Drive when he was suddenly struck by a black four-door vehicle that had been driving out of the parking lot of a local 7-Eleven. The accident took place around 10:45 p.m. last night. The driver of this vehicle immediately fled the scene of the accident, headed westbound. The victim was thrown from his motorcycle and into the westbound lane of traffic. He was immediately struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle that struck him a second time was identified as a 54-year-old woman from Bay Shore who stopped at the scene of the crash to cooperate with authorities. Hudson Falls, NY (April 28, 2019) – On Saturday, April 27 around 3:19 p.m., police responded to the scene of a car accident at the intersection of Routes 196 and 43 with injuries. The accident took place in Hudson Falls, Washington County. Early reports stated that one person was unconscious at the time of the accident and was trapped inside their vehicle. Police are not sure what caused the vehicles to collide initially, but they did state that the injuries were so severe in at least one party that they had to be taken to the hospital by medical helicopter. The accident involved a Chevy Sonic LT, which had damage on both sides of the vehicle and deployed airbags at the scene of the crash. Emergency responders were forced to remove the injured driver from their vehicle for medical help. One witness on the scene said that the vehicle was involved in an accident and flipped over into the median on the side of the road.
