Albany, NY – One Man Hospitalized Following Fire on Emmet Street

Albany, NY (October 31, 2018) – According to Albany firefighters, a fire broke out inside a house early Wednesday morning, October 31, that resulted in the hospitalization of one victim. The fire was reported to have taken place at around 3:00 a.m. on Emmet Street.

Officials who responded to the scene stated that the fire destroyed a one-bedroom apartment that was inside the home. The sole resident of that apartment was reported as a man who was able to escape the fire before it engulfed the entire apartment.

Firefighters were called to the scene a short time after the fire started and were able to control the flames. Paramedics immediately rushed the injured victim to a local hospital where he is being treated for burns on his arm. The victim is expected to be okay at this time.

No further details have been made available pertaining to how the fire started or the identity of the victim. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
