Staten Island, NY – Two-Year-Old Injured in Collision in New Springville

Staten Island, NY (October 30, 2018) – A motor vehicle accident was reported to have taken place on Richmond Avenue at the intersection with Independence Avenue on Tuesday afternoon, October 30, which tragically resulted in the injury of a toddler. The small child was a passenger in a vehicle that became involved in a collision at around 12:21 p.m. in New Springville.

At this time, the accident is not believed to have involved any more than two vehicles, although all of the specifics have not been provided. According to authorities, the collision took place at the intersection for reasons that have not been confirmed.

Police along with paramedics were quickly called to the scene, and emergency crews were able to verify at least one injury. Sadly, that injury was sustained by a two-year-old child who was immediately rushed to Staten Island University Hospital, Prince’s Bay.

It is currently unknown as to whether or not anyone else was injured in this accident, however, the condition of the wounded child is considered stable at this time.

No further details have been made available in regards to the cause of this incident as police are likely to be involved in an investigation of the events at this time.
