Harlem, Manhattan, NY – Three-Story Church Collapses and Leaves One Injured

Harlem, Manhattan, NY (November 29, 2018) – A partial building collapse took place during what was supposed to be a controlled demolition on Thursday morning, November 29, according to authorities. The accident was reported to have happened shortly before noon at a three-story church located on West 135th Street.

What originally began as a planned demolition of the building ended with unpredictable results as a large portion of inside the church came crashing down. At the time of the incident, there were no workers inside the building, however, the large collapse caused injuries to one person who was nearby when it happened.

According to authorities, an individual who was exiting the parking lot of the church on a motorcycle suffered at least minor injuries due to the collapse. There has been no word, however, as to the exact condition of that person or the nature of their injuries.

Inspectors were sent to the scene in order to conduct an investigation regarding the safety of the premises.
