Johnstown, NY – Serious Injuries Sustained After Pedestrian Crash in Fulton County

Johnstown, NY (November 13, 2018) –  Saturday afternoon, November 10, police reported a pedestrian who suffered critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle while walking a dog in the vicinity of 609 County Highway 102. Police in Fulton County stated that the accident happened at around 2:49 p.m. when they received a call concerning a vehicle that struck a pedestrian in Johnstown.

The vehicle was reported to have been heading west at the time of the accident as the pedestrian was walking along the south side of the roadway. According to deputies, the victim was struck by the vehicle while attempting to cross the highway.

Police were immediately called to the scene alongside paramedics where the victim was first transported to a landing site before being airlifted to Albany Medical Center. The driver responsible for striking the victim was not ticketed at the scene as they were determined to have not been speeding or impaired.

Ambulance Service of Fulton County, Meco Fire Department, Pleasant Square Fire Department, and the Fulton County Sherrif’s Office are all actively involved in the investigation.
