Maine, NY – Two-Vehicle Crash Ends with Injuries on East Maine Road

Maine, NY (November 28, 2018) – Police were called to the scene of a crash involving two vehicles on Wednesday morning, November 28, that resulted in the injuries of two people including a small child. The accident was reported to have occurred at around 8:45 a.m. on East Maine Road, nearly one half-mile north of Pollard Hill Road.

According to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, an individual who was operating a truck along East Maine Road struck a slippery patch in the roadway while approaching a curve. The driver overcorrected the vehicle and subsequently swerved into oncoming traffic. The truck collided with a car, resulting in heavy damage to both vehicles.

Police along with paramedics were called to the scene to evaluate the damages and render aid to any victims. According to authorities, the driver of the truck suffered rib injuries in the crash and was quickly transported to a local hospital. A little girl who was a passenger in the other vehicle was also taken to a hospital for evaluation and possible treatment for injuries.

The conditions of the victims have not been provided at this time. The driver of the truck has been cited for crossing a double-yellow line.
