Scotia, NY – Vehicle Hits and Kills Woman on Mohawk Avenue

Scotia, NY (November 28, 2018) – Police in Scotia are actively investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that took place Wednesday evening, November 28, according to authorities. The deadly crash was stated to have happened at around 6:40 p.m. in front of the Xtra Mart gas station on Mohawk Avenue.

Dispatchers sent police along with emergency medical crews to the scene of the accident which took place for reasons that are currently unknown. Paramedics who responded to the accident rendered aid to the victim as they immediately transported her to Ellis Hospital. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.

Mohawk Avenue had to be shut down for a short time in order for police to begin their preliminary investigation. Neither the names of the parties involved nor the cause of the crash have been stated at this time.

Police are currently being assisted with their investigation by the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. No further information has been made available.
