Fowler, NY – Elderly Woman Killed and Two Others Injured in Two-Car Crash

Fowler, NY (December 5, 2018) – State police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident between two vehicles on State Highway 58 and Country Club Road in Fowler. The fatal crash was reported to have occurred at approximately 10:36 a.m. on Sunday morning, December 2.

According to authorities, a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser, operated by 93-year-old John G. Reilly, of Fowler, caused the crash after failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign at the intersection of State Highway 58 and Country Club Road. Reilly had been driving South on Country Club Road before he crashed into a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville operated by 83-year-old Marlene E. Watson, of Gouverneur, who was traveling west on Highway 58 prior to entering the intersection.

A passenger who had been in the front seat of Reilly’s vehicle, identified as 95-year-old Anna M. Reilly, of Fowler, was promptly rushed to Canton-Potsdam Hospital where she was tragically pronounced dead a short time later. Mr. Reilly was also transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital with head lacerations, as wells as chest and back pain. He is listed in stable condition at this time. Watson was taken to Gouverneur Hospital with a knee injury that has been considered minor.
