Lima, NY – Man Killed After Collision on Clay Street

Lima, NY (January 31, 2019) – A fatal car accident in Livingston County was reported to have taken place on Thursday morning, January 31, according to authorities. One man was sadly killed after his vehicle crashed in the area of Clay Street in the town of Lima at around 6:30 a.m. for reasons that are currently under investigation, although weather conditions are believed to have played a role.

According to Troopers, the victim, identified only as a 59-year-old man, hit a snowdrift and slammed into a pole on Clay Street. Emergency medical crews were dispatched to the scene along with local law enforcement in order to evaluate the situation and render aid to the victim. Paramedics tragically pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Authorities stated that the victim was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, although other factors may have contributed to his death. The incident is likely to be under investigation at this time.
