Glen Cove, NY – Pedestrian Death Following Accident on Brewster Avenue

Glen Cove, NY (March 30, 2019) – Recently, a pedestrian accident took place on Brewster Avenue in Glen Cove and now a pedestrian death stemmed from that same accident.

The accident took place late at night several weeks ago when a pedestrian was attempting to cross Brewster Avenue from the east to west sides. The pedestrian has since been identified as 26-year-old Pinar Alkan of Glen Cove.

Alkan was struck by a Volkswagen that was traveling northbound at the time driven by a 23-year-old female. The pedestrian was immediately taken to the hospital with a variety of serious injuries, including head injuries. The pedestrian was listed in critical condition.

This week, the victim, Pinar Alkan, was pronounced deceased due to his injuries by hospital staff.

Police do not believe that the accident was criminal in nature and they continue to investigate at this time.
