New Dorp, NY – Pedestrian Struck and Seriously Injured by Vehicle

New Dorp, NY (May 30, 2019) – Police have confirmed that a serious personal injury accident took place Wednesday evening, May 29, in the town of New Dorp when a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle. The accident was reported to have happened just a little after 7:00 p.m., however, the precise location of the incident has not been provided at this time.

According to a spokesman for the FDNY, the unidentified victim was struck by a vehicle for unknown reasons, and emergency responders were promptly called to the scene. The victim was immediately transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

No further details regarding the identity of the victim or the events that led to the collision have been provided. Authorities stated that the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad was initially requested at the scene, but that was canceled a short time later.
