Venice, NY – Update: Authorities Release Identities and More Details in Fatal Pedestrian Crash
Venice, NY (May 30, 2019) – An investigation into the serious pedestrian accident that took place Friday, May 24, in the town of Venice has now yielded the identities of those involved, as well as further information. The accident took place on Moravia Venice Town Line Road when an elderly man was struck by a vehicle at around 10:15 a.m.
According to New York State Police, a vehicle being driven by Felicia J. Thompson, of Moravia, was traveling northbound along the aforementioned road when she struck the victim. 87-year-old Charles J. Baildon was reported to have been standing near his mailbox at the time of the collision.
Baildon was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he was listed in critical condition. Tragically, Baildon succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, May 26. Police are currently continuing their investigation into this incident.
