Bronx, NY – Pedestrian Accident Lead to Fatality on Major Deegan Expressway

Bronx, NY (June 29, 2019) – Police responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident that led to one fatality on the Major Deegan Expressway on Thursday night around 11:40 p.m.

Officials claim that, once first responders arrived at the scene of the accident, they found a male pedestrian unconscious and unresponsive. The pedestrian had significant trauma to his body.

EMS pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene after they were unable to revive him. They believe that two to four vehicles struck the pedestrian.

Southbound traffic was shut down on the Major Deegan Expressway for quite some time. Police have not made any arrests and their investigation continues at this time.
